James Joiner "Jim" Couch Jr was born August 25, 1948 in Richland to James Joiner Couch Sr and Nell Rose Couch. He passed away in his sleep at the age of 67 at his home in West Covina, CA.

Jim attended Spalding Grade School, Marcus Whitman Grade School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School.

After high school graduation, Jim joined the U. S. Army. After training he was sent to Vietnam as a supply clerk. Following his discharge, he was never in good health and was in and out of various military hospitals for the rest of his life. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 7952, Richland.

He married Elisabeth Frances Henschen on April 1, 1981. They were divorced on March 4, 1985. Elisabeth passed away at the age of 72 on February 15, 2019 in Alaska.

Jim is survived by his sister, Melanie Couch Nelson ('75); a niece and nephew; and his beloved "Aunt Dolly".

He was preceded in death by his father who passed away at the age of 84 on May 8, 2005 in Renton, WA; and by his mother who passed away at the age of 84 on September 9, 2010 in Maple Valley, WA.
