Peter Villier Gaskell was born in Spokane on October 7, 1948 to Lois and Claude Gaskell. He passed away at the Cardinal Bea House at Gonzaga University in Spokane on July 30, 1974 at the age of 25.

He grew up in Richland where he attended Christ the King School, 9th Grade at Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School.

Peter entered the Society of Jesus as a Jesuit on August 19, 1971.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lois Gaskell of Richland; his three sisters: Laurie Gaskell Nelson ('62) (Richard); Anne Gaskell Grassl ('69) (Marv) and Mary Leslie Gaskell Smith ('77) (Scott); and by his grandmother, Mrs Peter Anderson of North Dakota.

PRAYER

"Take, O Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding and my entire will.
Whatever I have or hold, Thou hast given me I restore it all to Thee and surrender it wholly to be governed by Thy will.
Give me only Thy love and Thy grace, and I am rich enough and ask for nothing more".


He was buried at the Jesuit Cemetery of the Oregon Province in Spokane.
