SHEILA JoANN MADDY KELLY ~ Class of 1966
October 3, 1947 - November 28, 2024



Sheila JoAnn (née Maddy) Kelly of Chewelah, WA passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer. Sheila was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Sheila was born on October 3, 1947, in Yakima, WA to Frank and Doris (née Burks) Maddy. She attended Lewis & Clark Grade School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School.

On July 1, 1966, Sheila married Jerry Kelly ('64KHS) in Lewiston, ID. They lived in the Seattle area where they raised their two children, Jaysun and Carrie.

Sheila and Jerry retired and moved to Chewelah, WA in 2006.

In the years following Sheila's cancer diagnosis, Jerry was both her loving, loyal husband and caregiver.

Sheila's greatest joy was becoming a mom and providing a loving home for her family. She took great pride in hosting gatherings of family and friends for birthdays, holidays and special occasions. Her children, grandchildren, nephews and niece filled her heart and were the highlight of her life.

Sheila loved the Puget Sound, road trips, camping, whale watching on the Oregon Coast, vacationing with friends, a good belly laugh and quiet moments on her deck enjoying the view.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; brothers, Ricker "Rick" Maddy ('67) and Roger (Janice) Maddy; son, Jaysun Kelly of Seattle; daughter, Carrie (née Kelly) Kent and her husband, Arron Kent, of Chewelah, WA; and Carrie's and Arron's children: Madysun, Lilian and AJ (Arron Kent ^Jr.).

A private family memorial will be held in the Spring.
