Richard

Richard W. Magula, 77, a beloved husband, father, Grampy, brother and friend, peacefully passed away at his home in Pasco on September 14, 2024. Born on April 2, 1947, in Richland, he lived a life dedicated to his family, country, and craft.

He attended Richland's Columbia High School with the Class of 1966.

After serving honorably in the Navy from 1965 to 1969, Richard met his future wife, Mary Ann, in Kennewick in 1976. They married in Sunnyside on January 14, 1978, and went on to have three daughters.

Post-service, Richard embarked on a career as a Journeyman carpenter with Local 59, eventually finding his lifelong passion as a Journeyman pipefitter/welder with UA Local 598. His skill and dedication were evident throughout his professional life.

Though stubborn and strong-willed, Richard possessed a kind heart and a mischievous sense of humor. Beyond his professional and military commitments, he was a passionate fisherman, hunter, and farmer, finding solace and joy in the natural world.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; their three daughters: Krystal (Greg) Antonioni, Elise (Derek) Ellingsen, and Amy (Kyle) Staats; grandchildren; Tucker, Buckley, Connor, Levi, Cannon, Raelan, Baden, Elly, Charlize, Nolan, and Callen; and siblings, Mary Mattila, Mike Magula ('64), twins: Mark Magula ('66) and Margaret Badgley ('66), twins: Joe Magula ('71) and Kristy Privette ('71), Willie Magula ('72), Carol Greenlee ('75), and Joey Magula.
