Dorthy Ann Nelson Canoy, age 53, entered into rest at her home in Spokane on December 28, 2000, where she had resided for the past 13 years.

Dorthy was born in Richland on November 17, 1947. She attended Jason Lee Elementary School, Chief Jo Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School.

She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Dorthy is survived by her sons: Troy Canoy of Spokane, Todd Canoy of Richland and Chad Canoy of Post Falls, ID; daughters: Pat Peterson of Rosalia, Marie York of Cheney and Jennifer Ferguson of Spokane; her parents: Lyman and Martha Nelson of Richland; her brothers: Charles Nelson ('61) and Jim Nelson ('67) of Richland; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2000, at Heritage Funeral Home; 508 N. Government Way; Spokane. WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation; PO Box 30261; Spokane, WA 99223-3004.
