Private First Class Marcia Kay Setbacken, 19, died Sunday, November 5, 1967, in Ft. Riley, Kansas as a result of carbon monoxide asphyxiation. Marcia and 22-year old Spec. 4 John "Jay" Williamson ('63) were found dead in a parked car.

She was born in Wapato, Washington, on July 11, 1948 and attended Richland schools including Sacajawea Elementary and Carmichael Junior High, graduating from Richland's Columbia High School in 1966.

Marcia joined the U. S. Army in September, 1966.

Jay was a military policeman and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Williamson of Richland.

Marcia was a PFC dental assistant specialist assigned to the Irwin Hospital Dental Detachment at Ft. Riley. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Setbacken who moved to San Jose about a year ago.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Setbacken of San Jose; sisters, Gail ('66) and Sharon ('68 Honorary); and brothers, Gary ('64) and Michael ('78 Honorary).

Services were held on Thursday, November 9, 1967 at Oak Hill Mortuary, 300 Curtner Avenue in San Jose, California.
