Joe was born in Pasco on August 21, 1948 and passed away March 7, 2007.

He attended Marcus Whitman Elementary School, Christ the King School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School.

His sister is Toni Stankiewicz Deranleau ('70), and his brother is Jim Stankiewicz ('72).

Joe was an Army paratrooper in Vietnam enlisting on June 1, 1968 and was discharged June 1, 1970.

He had been in bad health for about five years and passed away while living in Barrow, AK.
