Sandra Nash-Nevarez, 51, of Salem died October 17, 1999 of cancer.

She was born in Richland on March 30, 1948. Sandra attended Christ the King School, Carmichael Junior High School and was an honorary member of the Class of 1966 at Richland's Columbia High School.

Sandra was a drug and alcohol counselor and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 16 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Canby, OR and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her companion, Mario Galvon; daughters, Sonya Anderson of Sunnyside, WA and Anne Elmer of Salem, OR; son, Crispin Nash of Portland, OR; mother, Mary Smith of Bellingham, WA; father, William Whitehead of Pasco; brothers, David Whitehead of Bellingham and Daniel Whitehead of Goose Creek, SD; sisters, Beth Whitehead Simmons ('72 honorary) and Tracy Whitehead, both of Bellingham, WA; and six grandchildren.

She married Albert Irvin Nash on August 22, 1970. He passed away in 1985 at the age of 47.

Services were at Canby Funeral Chapel in Canby, OR. Private inurnment was at Zion Memorial Cemetery in Canby. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
