ROSE MARIE WILDENBORG PETERS ~ Class of 1966
February 11, 1948 - December 17, 2000

Rose Wildenborg - Senior ~ Rose Wildenborg - Recent

Rose Marie Peters, 52, of Richland, was taken home on Sunday, December 17, 2000. She was born February 11, 1948 in Richland and lived her entire life here. She was the youngest of six children.

Rose attended Sacajawea Elementary School, Christ the King School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School.

She met Leonard at the Atomic Lanes Bowling Alley, where she was a waitress. They were married in 1969. "Aunt Rose" as she was known to so many children and young people was a daycare provider for 27 years. During those years she helped shape the lives of more than 100 children.

Rose loved her work with the Richland Church of Christ, becoming the wedding coordinator four years ago and teaching many cradle roll classes.

The two biggest loves in her life besides family and friends was Portland, where we spent many, many weekends shopping and eating and just goofing off, and Mickey Mouse. She started her collection of Mickey Memorabilia 12 years ago when she received a Mickey Mouse watch as a Christmas present, and it grew from that watch to anything and everything Mickey.

Rose is survived by her husband of 31 years, Leonard Peters ('61); daughters, Rachel ('95) and Lanie ('97) Peters of Richland; son, Steven Davis (Christy), and five grandchildren all of Chelan; sisters: Ruth Wildenborg Brodaczynski ('52) (Edwin) of Richland, Kit Wildenborg Marshall ('58) of Richland, Susan "Sis" Wildenborg Stafford ('65) (Donald) of Richland; brothers: Bob Wildenborg ('52) (Maryann) of Richland and Ben Wildenborg ('54 honorary) (Pat) of Richland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Kathy Peters of Richland; special friend Chie Fassett of Richland; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, as well as hundreds of "her kids". [Some of her nieces and nephews are: Robert "Eric" ('82), Judy ('84), Carla ('88), Brian ('89) and Stephen].

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Wildenborg; and her in-laws, Howard and Ruby Peters.

Funeral services were held at 1pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at the Richland Church of Christ located at 933 Thayer (corner of Swift and Thayer) in Richland. Graveside services followed at Resthaven Cemetery.
