Leta Ramerman - Recent

Leta Ramerman passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Portland Providence Medical Center in Portland, OR at the age of 58. She had lived in Portland since 1971.

At the time of her death, Leta was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Davis Elementary School in the Reynolds School District in Portland. Prior to that, she held similar positions at the Madeleine School and The Catlin Gabel School. Also at numerous healthcare facilities in the Portland area including: Holladay Park, Legacy Emanuel, Providence Child Center, Providence St. Vincent, Providence Medical Center, Portland Adventist and the Morrison Center.

Leta was born in Bellingham, WA on April 27, 1947. The Ramerman family moved to Pasco in 1955 and to Richland in 1961.

She attended Chief Jo Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Richland's Columbia High School. She graduated from Columbia Basin College in 1968.

Leta loved crafts, sewing and hunting antiques. She had recently started flower gardening. She particularly enjoyed creating gift baskets for family and friends to celebrate special occasions. She collected glass, crystal, china, anything "Dutch" and anything "angels".

Leta is survived by her sisters: Sheila Ramerman ('72) of Eugene, OR and Lynn Ramerman Eppling (HHS '75) of Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her fraternal twin sister Janet in 1971, by her mother Alice Palmbush Ramerman in 2005 and by her father Harold Earl Ramerman in 1996.

A memorial service was held at New Hope Community Church in Portland on Friday, February 24, 2006. Private interment services were held later. Arrangements were through The Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland, OR.
